Best Live Performances Series: Travis Scott
Nobody kills the stage with so much flair and rage other than the king of Astroworld
Travis Scott is undoubtedly one of the greatest performers on planer Earth right now. His unique and electric stage designs, erratic rants and enormous fan-created moshpits, provide a quick description of his universe and the presence he exudes on stage.
Anyway, as a die-hard rager who is unfortunately unable to attend concerts due the global pandemic, I have assembled some of Travis' best performances on stage to light up the soul of every rager who feels down and wants to scream the lyrics of their favorite songs so loudly that the neighbor next door might have to file an arrest warrant. (Lol, please don't do as I say. Anyway, enjoy!
Governors Ball 2018
The Governors Ball saw Travis unleash one of his best shows ever. With the help of longtime friends Chase B and Mike Dean, ragers were able to create large moshpits to cult-classics such as "Antidote", "Carousel" and "Mamacita." The star performance goes to "Through The Late Night" as the crowd turned up to this nighttime banger. Despite the light rain, Travis was able to bring on labelmate, Sheck Wes as well as NBA superstar, James Harden, to entertain the crowd.
Goosebumps World Record
Honestly, this record shows how powerful Travis' hit single "Goosebumps" really is. He performed it 14 times in a row and the crowd raged harder and harder every time.
Jimmy Kimmel Live
Two legendary things enabled Travis to dominate this classic performance; Mike Dean's synths and the celestial stage lighting. This somewhat ethereal show illustrates how serious Travis takes his creative direction.
This performance is legendary due to the fact that Travie was able to collaborate with Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, John Mayer, Mike Dean and Chase B to perform Astroworld favorites; "Skeletons" and "Astrothunder." His sweet melody drenched in autotune stands out and enhances his vocal performance.
ACL Fest 2018
This is my favorite performance from Travis for numerous reasons. Firstly, it shows the rockstar in his prime after the release of global smash, Astroworld and the growth of his fanbase. His stage design, pyrotechnics and energy are undeniable and cease to produce a dull moment. Travis also gets in his feels to deliver a stunning performance of "Skeletons" while later on rages with a fan to "Goosebumps."
This was an unexpected performance and it only came into being due to the global impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Nonetheless, this Fortnite performance was epic as it showed the animated version of the superstar hit the stage with bangers such as "Stargazing" and "Highest In The Room" for millions of gamers. In addition, he executed a genius marketing tactic by releasing the single, "The Scotts" with Kid Cudi, which ended up debuting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
Sicko Mode Live With Drake
Travis Scott visits the Drake in Toronto to perform the modern-day classic, "Sicko Mode." This was absolutely lit and the stage design clearly accentuated their show.
Astroworld Tour RI
This video shows Travis perform his Astroworld Tour setlist to his thousands of fans in Rhode Island. The stage design, guest stars such as Young Thug and Gunna, mosh pits, fireworks, rollercoaster rides and a dome full of intense gusto show how Travis Scott envisions his celestial world.
Openair Fraeunfeld 2017
This video confirms that America doesn't have the most energizing fans in the world. Here, Travis is fresh off Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight and gives the fans in Switzerland a legendary show. Fans look in awe and never stop jumping as they rage to bangers such as "90210" and "3500." This performance has Travis standing on top of a fire hydrant to chant "Upper Echelon" and on top of a cop car for "Beibs In The Trap."
Rolling Loud NY 2019
When we say that Travis is the king of the rage, this is what we mean. Travis came to the show rockstar-ready and then while performing "Butterfly Effect", he ruptured his knee and started limping. However, with just brief pauses, he went on to finish the show limping. In fact, he performed "No Bystanders" and "Antidote" all on one leg. Yeah, Travis is the shit!
