Summer Walker having fun

Summer Walker is one of the best groundbreaking artists of the year. Her soulful and calming voice can be heard on her debut album, "Last Day of Summer", which featured hits such as "Girls Need Love", "Just Like Me", "CPR" and "Karma".

She then scored a remix from Drake for her single "Girls Need Love"which peaked at number 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and 41 on the Official Singles Charts.

However, her reserved character is what makes her unique. She seems socially awkward despite portraying a vibrant character on social media. In her interview with Julie Adenuga, she seemed very passive and uninterested, but you can tell that was not the case as she became lively as the interview progressed.

She has an authentic character and that's very important. It is easy to hate introverts or people with reclusive behaviors because they may seem selfish and boring, yet they are often misunderstood and these are the kinds of people that Summer represents.

Her next studio album,"Over It", drops next week Friday (Octoer 4th). It features R&B stars such as Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, 6LACK, Jhené Aiko, Bryson Tiller and Usher. She declared on instagram that the album was executively produced by London on da Track. She recently released her promotional single "Stretch You Out" featuring A Boogie wit da Hoodie.

Lastly, she will be promoting her album by going on a nationwide tour with Dominican-American guest artist, Melii. A fire-and-ice combination where Melii can energize the crowd with her rap prowess while Summer later cools them off with her soothing voice and performance.

On October 4th, be ready to download her entire album "Over It" to prepare yourself for her upcoming concerts. In addition, Melii's debut album, "PhAses", is a magnificent project and spawns popular singles such as "Gangsta Talk", "Trip", "Anime Girls" and "Slow For Me (Ft. Tory Lanez)". R&B is not dead because we have Melii and Summer Walker.
